Working on Dragonstorm was a challenge for me in more ways than one. This was the first project where I got to use the Unity engine and also the first time I learned to use Excel for design. In Excel, it was my job to create a procedural hexagonal map the player moves through during their PvE gameplay experience which we feature all the different climate zones. Also, I became proficient in creating lookup tables and incorporating them into functions.
I created well over a hundred or so quests the player gets to complete along the way which allowed me to show off my narrative skills by writing up dialogue for all our quests. I was also responsible for creating the vision of how we represent our technology tree and its contents to the player.
Other day to day duties:
Wiring up state machine for animating main dragon on pedestal using Unity
Worked with design to write dialog for questing system
Created initial vision and documentation of unlockable technology tree
Assisted world art by used Unity editor to create custom animations
Used Excel to create vision of all procedural campaign maps
